January Birthday Party
Ann Braaten hosted a Beta Chapter Birthday Party on January 12 at her house. Members enjoyed appetizers and pot luck meal. It was fun eating the wonderful food that people brought and getting to know each other better. For those who weren’t able to be there, we missed you!

On Saturday, March 3, Fowzia Adde, the executive director of the Immigrant Development
Center of Fargo Moorhead will be our speaker. She will share information about
the work IDCFM does to help immigrants become self-sufficient and equal members of
the community, including the International Market Plaza at 1345 Main Avenue in
Fargo. Their website is http://www.idcfm.org and they have volunteering opportunities
available.
March 3 program presented by Beta member at the Spirit Room
On Saturday, March 3, 2018, the Spirit Room, at 111 North Broadway in Fargo, is hosting
the opening reception from 7-9 p.m. for “Hinamatsuri: Japanese Dolls”, a seven-tier
set of the Japanese Emperor’s Court, which will be on exhibit March 2 to April 14.
At 7:30 on March 3, Ann Braaten will give a talk about the meaning of Hina dolls in
Japanese culture, the Hinamatsuri celebration occurring on March 3rd each year, and
the Hina dolls journey to Fargo and to their caregivers, the Northern Plains Botanic
Garden Society.
