On Saturday, March 3, Fowzia Adde, the executive director of the Immigrant Development

Center of Fargo Moorhead will be our speaker. She will share information about

the work IDCFM does to help immigrants become self-sufficient and equal members of

the community, including the International Market Plaza at 1345 Main Avenue in

Fargo. Their website is http://www.idcfm.org and they have volunteering opportunities

available.

March 3 program presented by Beta member at the Spirit Room

On Saturday, March 3, 2018, the Spirit Room, at 111 North Broadway in Fargo, is hosting

the opening reception from 7-9 p.m. for “Hinamatsuri: Japanese Dolls”, a seven-tier

set of the Japanese Emperor’s Court, which will be on exhibit March 2 to April 14.

At 7:30 on March 3, Ann Braaten will give a talk about the meaning of Hina dolls in

Japanese culture, the Hinamatsuri celebration occurring on March 3rd each year, and

the Hina dolls journey to Fargo and to their caregivers, the Northern Plains Botanic

Garden Society.

November Visit to a Mosque

Beta members enjoyed a visit to a mosque in Fargo. This was both enjoyable and educational.

Treats were enjoyed.

Members enjoyed gathering for fun and games at Connie Knain's home with its festive seasonal decor.

Beta Members Participate in Executive Board Meeting

Brenda Seehafer, State President, conducted the meeting.

 Deb Boyer attended committee meetings and Jolene Beckman, Beta President, reported on the state convention held in June. Ann Braaten, State First Vice-President, gave a report on her training at the Northwest Regional.

 Sarah Griffith, Verna LaBounty, and Deb Boyer worked on AdHoc Committee recommendations for dealing with chapter flags and other paraphernalia.

Beta Welcomed Transfer Member Jeanne Orke. 

She comes from Bottineau and was a member of Lambda Chapter. She is the newly elected President of ND Retired Teachers Assoc.
